The historical centre of Florence is based around two Piazzas (squares) where most of the historical sights can be found. The Palazzio Vecchio and the famous Galeria degli Uffizi. There are some active groups of pickpockets in the area, and some thieves work as fake beggars to distract your attention and snatch your purse.
